Let's Paint... Noses!

Description

What? Another tutorial within, like, 5 minutes? It must be Christmas! (Actually, you're wrong; tomorrow is July 25, which is about as far from Christmas as you can get.)

So this is a tutorial on how to paint a nose. I know there's a million of these. Now there's a million and one. The nose shown here would probably take me no more than 20-30 minutes, but I'm familiar with the painting style, so if you're not, it will probably take longer.

BLENDING TIPS
I should probably do a separate tutorial on blending, but basically the process of blending (as I do it, anyways) is as follows:
1. You have 2 colors you need to blend together
2. Blend them together by painting in between them with in-between hues (I do this by eyedropping in-between colors)
3. Continue to do so until you have achieved your desired level of blending

Blending though is really time consuming and practice is really needed to be able to improve on it. Kudos though as this is a big help! Understanding is part of the learning process, asking questions etc! Everyone needs to understand how things work before they dismiss tutorials offhand it's something i've had to learn over time. But I guess the only question I have is, when blending to get the finer details do you use the eraser to shape the colors as your blending to smooth out the rough applications early on? That is something I'm having to adjust to as when I originally started painting I've had to apply colors over and erase to shape them the way I wanted.
